Scammers pretending to be from ASIC have been contacting ASIC Registry customers asking them to pay fees and give personal information to renew their business or company name.
There are a few ways you can tell if an email is likely to be a scam, including if it asks you:
- to make a payment over the phone,
- to make a payment to receive a refund,
- for your credit card or bank details directly by email or phone, or
- to pay fees that are different to the fees on the ASIC website.
For business names, Custom Accounting will send our clients renewals a month before your renewal date. For companies, we will send you information about your annual review shortly after your annual review date.
If you think you’ve been sent a scam email, we encourage you to contact your Client Relationship Manager.
